So I got a new toy thats brining life to some old photographs. A while back I was out and about in downtown Richmond Virginia. Just south of the James River I stumbled across an old processing plant of some sort.
I really like the feeling I got as I drove through the currently vacant gravel parking lot. I really wanted to capture the feeling so I jumped out of my car and started taking some shots. The day was bright and there were clouds in the background. The landscape was a bit surreal and a little spooky. To my dismay as I was taking picture I could tell they were not capturing the affect I wanted….
Yesterday I purchased the Nik Software complete package that comes bundled with their new HDR software. I was able to purchase and download the software right from their site. Within minutes I was installed and playing. Ever since HDR hit the market I’ve wanted to give’er a shot. (no pun intended). I’ve been a fan of their Silver Efex Pro™ software which has a new release coming out soon. With the purchase of the Complete package (Currently on sale till 1/31/11!!) I received the HDR software I’ve been wanting, but also a free upgrade to Silver Efex Pro™ 2. Not to mention the other great products in the bundle, Dfine® 2.0, Viveza® 2, HDR Efex Pro™, Color Efex Pro™ 3.0, and Sharpener Pro™ 3.0.
With Viveza® 2 and Color Efex Pro™ I just might have to start trying my hand at color photography. These tools are incredible. The incorporation of the u-point technology provides outstanding control and flexibility brining dark room controls to the digital realm.
So using a work flow consiting of HDR Efex Pro™ and Silver Efex Pro™ I took the above photographs and created my first HDR image….I hope you enjoy…
