Its here!

So I’ve been preparing for this day for quite some time. The new web site is finally “finished”. There is still quite a bit of work to do, but I am well on the way. For those who may have caught the Sneak Peak you might notice the new duds are not quite exactly like the screen shot I originally shared.  After some consideration I decided it was too much and simplified a little.

The New Banner

This new look sports some new features too. On the front page you will see a rotating banner of featured images from posts. Underneath it there are 4 columns. The first column is a light but meaningful bio. I’ll add a self portrait to it one of these days.

New Categories

The next three columns are post columns. These allow the reader to see the down and dirty of a post with out having to navigate to the page. Powered by Ajax you can select a page number below to see the next oldest post. For these columns I’m posting:

  • “In theNews” – This column is ment to be short announcements for things going on in my photography. You might also find an occasionally post about news or events going on in the grander realm of photography.
  • “Gear and More” – No I’m not going to try to out do DPP or dpreview, but I thought it would be cool to have a place o talk about things I use. I’m also going to start sharing some of the technology trips or tricks I’ve stumbled across in running my own photoblog.
  • “Behind the Lens” – This is where you will find most of my posts including comments or thoughts about what I was thinking when I took the picture.

The Gallery

The recent additions section show the latest additions to my gallery where my fans can purchase prints. Next to it are some descriptions of the types of prints that are available. With my new Gallery I’ll be able to share more of my photos and offer a few new products. As some of you know I’ve been a customer of Photoshelter for the past year. Photoshelter has been good to me, but sadly I must bid them a farewell. I’ve discovered a new print fulfillment venue that offers a little more flexibility…more to come on that later.

The front page is toped (or rather bottomed) off with “The Cloud” (my little pun on all the “To the cloud” commercials out there now) and standard footer stuff.

The Cloud

All in all I’m so far pleased with the turn out. Over the next couple of weeks I will be working out some bug and smoothing things out, so please be patient.
